The Titan's Trail

- Active Crew: Elena, JJ, Patlas, Uda, Vulpes
- Key Contacts: Kora, Pretty
- Location: The (Charred) Wilds
I asked for heroes. The Fates sent me a tiefling who thinks heβs a firestarter, a druid who treats toxic sludge like a buffet, and a crew that spends three hours tied together with a rope in a wet hole while the forest is on fire.
π₯ The Arsonist and the "Nora"β
Vulpes and JJ disembarked and immediately decided the local ecosystem looked delicious. They started drinking the "sap" (the actual, literal Blood of Gaia) like they were at a bottomless brunch. 20 temporary hit points? Sure. But at what cost? Probably their sanity, but they didn't have much of that to start with.
Then, Vulpes decided the best way to handle the Wilds was to set the entire forest on fire. He successfully turned the woods into a ruin. The Blood of Gaia acted like an accelerant, fueling the inferno before spreading out like a wave to choke the oxygen and shield the source of the rot. Kora (or "Nora," as the crew has decided to call her, and Iβm not correcting them, sheβs terrifying) had to come out just to stop her home from turning into a barbecue.
Instead of a fight, Vulpes used his "charisma" (I call it trolling) to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with her back to camp, leaving JJ to sit in the ruins, huffing poison smoke and eating more rot. JJβs apparently immune to the smoke now. Great. Heβs also "plump." If he pops on my deck, heβs cleaning it up himself.
π The Daisy Chain and the Wellβ
While the forest was burning, Uda, Elena, and Patlas were underwater. They formed a psychic daisy chain: a light-up frog leading a blood hunter, a paladin, and a goliath on a rope.
They moved so slowly I thought the ship was going to grow barnacles. Uda ignored the giant snake scales (probably a smart move, honestly) and found a tunnel leading to the well. After finally feeling safe enough, Elena and Patlas decided to catch up with Uda and got the "big picture" visions (Gaia screaming and a giant serpent, definitely not a good sign). They realized the "sap" is actually a torment, but did they tell the others? No, they were too busy trying to climb a ladder while Nora was dumping a bucket of the Blood of Gaia on their heads.
π¦ The "Pretty" Situationβ
Patlas took the full muck-bucket to save the others. When he finally exited the well, he immediately grappled Vulpes. The aggression was instant. The second dose of the Blood hit Vulpes, and his Tiefling horns grew longer and thicker right before their eyes. His veins and muscles flexed into something beastly.
Meanwhile, JJ stayed in the ruins huffing poison smoke. He ate a second helping of the sap, which apparently cleared his lungs and made him immune to the smoke's poison. Heβs "plump" now, and heβs holding two canteens of the toxic sludge. He eventually wanders out of the smoke, uses his snake-magic to talk to the Nemean Lion (which stated his name to be "Pretty") and convinces the beast that Nora is in danger. Next thing he knows, he's getting raced to the fray while clinging to invincible fur.
β Current Statusβ
We haven't resolved a single thing. The forest is a charred wasteland. Half the crew is mutating into Titan-beasts and thinks the "sap" is a miracle drug. The other half is suspicious and wet. We can't even agree if the lion and the lady get to come on the ship.
Iβm locking the cabin door. If JJ tries to feed that "Pretty" thing my rations, Iβm throwing the whole circus overboard.
