The Brazen Heist

Mission Manifest
  • Active Crew: Bluegill, Edmund, Elena, Quinn, Uda, Vulpes
  • Key Contacts: Archon Kestos, Elara
  • Location: Ephyra (Fleeing)
  • Status: Hull Intact. Engine... Hot. Crew... Chaotic.

So, the new crew arrived. I asked for heroes; the Fates sent me a traveling circus. But hey, they got the job done. Mostly.

Things got off to a "great" start at the docks. Captain Dexios took one look at this group and decided they looked more like drifters than demigods. He was about two seconds away from throwing the lot of them in the holding cells until Vulpes stepped up. Somehow, the guy convinced the Captain he was a local resident of Ephyra. I don’t know what he said, but he got a personal escort of three Phylakes while the rest of the party was told to wait on the ship.

Then Elena decided she didn’t like waiting. She dropped the Lethe disguise just enough to flash those galaxy-eyes of hers (that scary Nyx bloodline stuff). Suddenly, the party's gear starts glowing, Dexios wets himself, and realizes, "Oh, these are the Prophecy guys." Classic intimidation. I like her.

They finally got to the Agora, and instead of just stealing the Brazen Heart, they decided to play politics.

  • Uda went and made friends with some old priestess named Elara. Apparently, the Archon isn't popular.
  • Bluegill and Elena started chatting up the prisoners. Bluegill seemed interested in the "Iron Will" thing but eventually leaned toward the Titans. Elena and the Titan girl, Kora, were practically trading war stories.
  • Quinn did the actual work (thank you, Quinn) and realized the Heart was running dangerously hot.
  • Edmund played bodyguard for Vulpes, which was good, because Vulpes decided to poke the bear.

I wasn't there, but from what I hear, Vulpes tried to pressure Archon Kestos into a corner. The Archon didn't take it well. He fired up the Brazen Bull. Things got messy. The Titan girl got burned (Elena healed her; interesting choice), the "Freedom" girl looked disgusted, and the "Order" lady, Damarissa? Yeah, she swore she’s telling Hermes on us. Great. Just what I wanted. Divine tech support tickets.

They smashed the Bull, grabbed the Heart, and then things got... weird. Kestos somehow turned invisible and knocked out poor Vulpes. Something doesn't add up because from what I heard, he is a gods-less, non-magical mortal who could barely fit in his chiton. It didn't fool Elena, though. She marched right over to where Kestos was standing (still frozen by her blood magic) and found him shivering in the dark.

The Archon folded instantly, crying about how he’s just a puppet for "people who control him" but refusing to name names. Coward. Honestly, he deserved a sword in the gut for violating Xenia, but the crew decided murdering an unarmed politician is bad for the brand, so they let him live.

The Escape: They barely made it back to the docks. Apparently, the City Guard grew a conscience (or maybe they just didn't want to fight the glowing demigods).

Current Situation & Open Leads: We are officially out of Ephyra. The Brazen Heart is in the drive, but it's scorching the floorboards. We have no allies, the Gods are watching, and there's a bloody handprint on my hull from where the Titan girl bailed. I laid out the charts, and based on the absolute mess they made back there, we have five potential headings to investigate before the heat death of the universe (or just this ship).

  1. The Titan's Trail (The Wilds): Bluegill found a bloody handprint on the hull where Kora vaulted off. Elena determined it’s not just blood; it’s a magical "imprint." We could track her to the "Deep Rift" to find out what "Blood of Gaia" means.
  2. The Divine Pardon (The Oracle): Damarissa is tattling to Hermes. If we want to avoid being smited, we need a cosmic lawyer. Heading to Delphi to get the Prophecy officially recorded might make us "Agents of Fate," which theoretically gives us immunity from divine tantrums.
  3. The Volatile Heart (The Forge): Quinn is right: the ship is melting. Vulpes spotted a maker's mark on the Heart pointing to a specific Forge of Lemnos. We could go there to install a cooling siphon and maybe upgrade the hull for extreme environments.
  4. The Broken Law (The Acheron): Edmund is vibrating with anger. Since Kestos violated Xenia by attacking guests, the Furies are listening. A trip to the Acheron Delta could grant us a "Mark of Retribution" to hunt Kestos down anywhere.
  5. The Abyssal Route (The Sunken Temple): The sky isn't safe if Hermes is watching. Uda and Bluegill suggested we go under. There's a Sunken Temple at Isthmia that could bless the ship for submersible travel.

We need a plan. And I need a drink.
