Biography: To the casual observer, Elara is merely the elderly keeper of Ephyra’s sacred flame. But look closer at her hands, and you will see the callouses of a spear-woman, not a scholar. Elara is battle-worn, a veteran of wars that Ephyra has long forgotten. She serves Hestia not as a pacifist, but as a guardian of the home, and she is willing to burn the city down to save it from corruption.
She is known for her disarming, often flirtatious wit. This is not senility; it is a test. Elara uses charm and teasing to probe a stranger’s confidence. If you flush and stutter, she deems you weak. If you can banter back while keeping your guard up, she deems you trustworthy.
